Are you an organisation looking to support your working parents as they return to work?

55% of women and 27% of fathers who have taken extended parental leave felt it had disadvantaged their careers. Most say they don’t feel adequately supported, understood or catered for upon their return.

With the cost of replacing lost talent between 20 - 213% of an employee salary, it’s a business imperative to support this transition for your valued working parents.

A supportive work environment that helps working parents to regain momentum in their careers while balancing their new-found family responsibilities, creates an important and highly valued point of difference for many company cultures.

Introducing
The MATRI
Parental Leave Journey

MATRI is a working parent's support throughout their parental leave journey - a mixture of on-demand video content, group coaching sessions, expert guest live webinars, and community support to enable your working parents to leave confidently, and to return feeling ready, effective, and happy.

How does MATRI work?

You invite your staff to the MATRI platform, as a company benefit, to provide genuine support, recognition and understanding.

They join an 18 month ‘parental journey’ which follows this path:

Pre-Parental leave: Joining live webinars and learning how to manage their exit professionally, signal their intent and ambition to return, and communicate effectively with everyone they need to before they go.

During Parental leave: Accessing on-demand content on everything from; using KIT days well, maintaining confidence, managing working parents’ guilt and the mental load, and enlisting proper partner support from the start.

Towards their return, they access more live webinars on such topics as: choosing the right childcare options, flexible working, reengaging with work and their industry to maintain confidence, communicating and signalling their intent to return.

Post-Parental leave: Live webinar support with Q&A to understand what’s working well and what isn't, how to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, managing their time, managing appropriate and fair boundaries and flexibility with their company, and managing their career effectively moving forwards.

Constantly supported throughout their journey, and contacted regularly (without being intrusive), encourages them to stay in touch with their company when and where appropriate, and engaged in the process of being a returning working parent.

Main benefits:
  • Provides a supportive and progressive workplace culture that helps attract and retain top talent.
  • Reduces the high cost of replacing valuable staff members, male and female.

  • Achieves more women in senior leadership positions and helps close the gender pay gap.
  • Maintains the effective delivery of your business with engaged and confident returning working parents.

Because the first conversation sets the tone...

For many colleagues, the first moment of anxiety comes when they realise they need to tell their manager they’re pregnant, or going to be taking leave to support their partner.

That reaction, the words, the tone, the support offered (or not) can shape the entire experience that follows.

That’s why we also offer tailored training for managers. Whether it’s through live webinars, group coaching, or 1:1 support, our aim is simple: to equip managers with the tools, language, and confidence to support their team members through parental leave and beyond.

It’s not just about policies...it’s about people.

When managers know how to respond well, everyone benefits: your returning parents, your wider teams, and your business as a whole.

Empower your working parents to shift from...

flowers

Worried and unconfident, to energised and motivated

branch with leaves and berries

Isolated and disengaged, to supported and equipped

Overstretched and overwhelmed, to successfully balancing work and family
